All aboard 1.5 hours late

....the joy of railways was off to a bad start. 94 west to Naperville, IL was sunny and smooth.  Only issue was the fight over headphones (who took whose, these don't work, I want mine back)...problems started when we got to the Amtrak station and no attendant to give us long term parking permit in city lot.  The thought of being towed next Monday was disturbing. Train out of Chicago was 1.5 hours late...temps hovered at 15, station was full..we sat in car and wrote our own parking permit and stuck in window. But we r on and it is dark...some towns we go through still have Christmas lights up. Looks good. Wind is blowing snow thru the tractors at the john deer dealership along tracks. James wants to play cards. No one is interested. Vacation has started.
