friday

last work and play day....boys went to shop with james.  had coffee at 9am then the boys went with mr. koops to hike the white cliffs.  this is the third day of hiking ~ a great week of scenery and culture for us.  People have been very generous to show us around this year.  i stayed in the kitchen and clare was great in association office...basically she is ready for business school.  carly finished with PreK.  we went to say goodbye at "nap"time.  they were down on small cots with blankets and soft native music playing...it was so sweet!  i did a last laundry load and packed.  we got to pick out our volunteer shirts.  then we headed east to Ted and Evie Charles...and the hogan.  their 2 daughters and 4 grands were there too.  we had dogs, chips, beans and smores.  Ted showed the boys his hand made bows he is making from local wood (Minnesota, wood too), deer/elk tendons, raw hid....a great way to end the week.  we are tired.  they kids are ready to see their friends.  we get on train at 8:20am saturday.  almost home.
